Meta’s Message

Meta
Welcome to our newest experiment: blogging it. Â Our goal is to make the newsletter that has been going out for years to the YogaNow list to anyone who visits this site. Â Let us know if you have any feedback or suggestions. Â
Coming together as a community to practice yoga, chant, attend workshops (oh me oh my have we got workshops, kirtans and gongs coming, see below) is a serious support for these challenging times.
Between natural disasters and the human made crises there is plenty to concern us. Â But spiraling down in despair doesn’t serve us or the world. Finding strength through yoga, community and focused action does serve us. Â
There are plenty of opportunities for all these things, yoga classes, of course at YogaNow, Robin’s workshop on creating Courage this Sunday, and the Solar Feista this weekend at Highland High School. And for focused change that begins inside and then moves out, consider the next session of the YogaNow Teacher Training Apprentice Program which commences October 5 and continues for six months. You don’t need to want to be a teacher, you just need to want to delve more deeply into the transformative powers of yoga. Â
I had the honor of witnessing the amazing power of yoga at home this past week when my father of 82 years came for a visit and agreed to a daily regime of meditation, yoga and a plant-based diet. Â Tears came to my eyes when I watched on day five how much my dad’s spine had gained in flexibility with cat/cow poses and how his lunges were remarkably deeper. Â To see such changes in just five days was truly amazing and once again, I am awestruck by yoga, day in and day out.
May everyone be happy (sarva mangalam),
May joy and bliss start inside and move out,
Meet you on the mat,
Namaste,
Meta.
Namaste,
I bow to you
